132 kV Grid-SubStation (GSS) AT Khood.

132 kV substation has incoming lines from 220 kV GSS, which has been stepped down to 132 kV. This 132 kV feeder is the input to GSS, Khood. Second incoming line is from Windmill power plant source, Harsh parvat. Power is drawn from this windmill as a 33 kV feeder.

 2. Windmill Power Plant, Harsh Parvat.

This windmill is situated at the top of Harsh mountain, near Sikar. The tower height is 56 meters and each blade length is 20.5 meters. Each windmill has the maximum power generating capabilities of 600 kW. There are such 12 Windmills. Therefore the maximum capabilities of this power generation is 7.2 Mega-Watt.
The operating principle is on Synchronous Generator type. That is the blades rotates at very low speed, thus generates very low frequency and voltage generated is also very less. Now the low frequency low voltage ac power is rectified and filtered. Thus it is converted into DC voltage (i.e. freq is 0 Hz.).
Now the DC value is passed through IGBT controlled Inverter. This inverter converts the DC power into ac power of fixed 400 volts and 50 Hz. The firing angle varies of IGBT, through the feedback current from output. Thus fixed 400 volts and 49.7-50 Hz frequency.
This power is given to step up transformer of 400/33000 volts. Thus voltage is now 33 kV which is supplied to GSS, Khood. The voltage, frequency and phase which are needed for the generator to synchronize is done through Inverter and feedback control.
