Commutation Techniques of SCR (Thyristor) : Power Electronics
SharmaGS Electrical & Electronics, Power Electronics, Power Electronics I
SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) is a switch, which is a part of Thyristor family. To turn off this this controlled switch, different methods are used. Sometimes, it is self commutated and sometime forced commutation is required. The commutation techniques used depends upon the type of supply, the required output waveform and on the type of load.
